Generadora Metropolitana (GM) is a 50% EDF and 50% AME company set up in Chile in 2018. 5th actor in power generation in the country, being one of the leaders in the Chilean energy transition, with 1.030 MW of installed capacity (4 power plants).

Since 2018, the Operations Center has been providing the company with real-time coordination and management with the Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional. It contributes to the increase in the operational margin through the management of gas use, supervision of the decisions of the coordinator of the economic operation of the electricity generating plants and coordination with the facilities of GM and its clients.

The main activities of the VIE will include:

- Contribute to the commercial expansion of the Operation Center : consolidation of commercial proposals and monitoring of the correct execution of dispatch and remote-control contracts for renewable plants.

- Consolidate an operational structure to establish and position the Operations Center as the reference center for remote control of renewable plants in Latin America. 

- Develop dynamic computational models that integrate the existing signals in the Siemens SP5 SCADA with external and internal sources of information from databases.

- Establish a KPIs model that allows valuing the optimizations of the Operations Center, measuring results and adjusting gaps.

Duration of the assignment: 24 months
