Description de la mission

As a response to that, EDF Renewables is seeking for its the Industry Division a

 

ASSET OPERATION PROJECT DIRECTOR - RENEWABLE ENERGY (M/F)

 

As part of the development, commissioning, or operation of projects, you will provide your expertise to the subsidiaries of EDF Renewables and will manage the Asset Operation package of their development projects. You will also provide support to projects during due diligence and when studying the internalization of O&M activities for operational power plants.

 

Reporting to the Industrial & Asset Operation Modelling Manager, you will undertake some  of the responsibilities, tasks and duties listed below:

  • Within an international scope, in the context of developing high-stakes or complex projects, manage the Asset Operation package for responses to calls for tenders and financial closings, in connection with the International, Technical, and Purchasing Departments and partners of EDF R; 
  • Be responsible to foster a pro-active Health and Safety culture within the project organizations and Units of your perimeter as well with the main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Support or manage the Asset Operation package for merger and acquisition projects and/or due diligence; 
  • Provide support to international subsidiaries, to ensure and coordinate their technical integration related to Asset Operation; 
  • Support countries to define or optimize their Asset Operation strategy; 
  • Develop the associated OPEX estimates; 
  • Participate in or coordinate the drafting and negotiation of O&M contracts, EPC contracts, and equipment supply contracts. 
  • Contribute to the deployment of Asset Operation solutions in line with the Industry Policy of the Group.
     

You will also carry out the following additional missions: 

  • Be in charge of the establishment or the update of processes (peer review, database and tool management, response to a call for tenders or due diligence, etc.) within the team (PMO and IAOM); 
  • Train and mentor IAOM project managers and equivalent position in Business Units.
  • Support and assist Project Managers and Sponsors to set-up and enforce project governance principles on selected projects across the group in order to ensure consistency with group policies and best practices;
  • Facilitate and occasionally participate in strategic or operational bodies; project Technical Acceptance Committees (TAC) or technical steering committees;
  • Organize and lead Readiness to Operate reviews, with a team of experts/managers, for projects across the Group portfolio about the pronounce COD or at end of defect liability period.

Profil souhaité

The successful candidate should have a Master's degree in Engineering, Business management or equivalent and minimum 10 years of experience in a project management position delivering Renewable Energy services such as Wind, Solar, BESS and hybrid plants. A proven successful previous International experience is a must.
Added to that you have a significant and relevant experience in Renewable Energy Projects with emphasis on the operational phase (asset management or O&M, contract management, support to local project teams) to undertake the responsibility of the asset operation workstreams (engineering, procurement, team sizing, strategy definition) of various projects applying a regional project portfolio approach.

COMPETENCIES

  • Project Management: understands the application of all related Knowledge Areas (scope, cost, time, quality, HSE, risk, communications, etc), able to coordinate several workstreams running in parallel. PMP certification is a plus.
  • Technical Management: understands common fields of engineering (civil, electrical) with strong knowledge and understanding of Solar, Wind and Storage technologies and in general the renewables Sector..
  • Contract Management: understands interactions between contract and project management. Familiar with the contractual schemes and frameworks used in the Sector; incl. PPAs, EPCs, O&Ms, TSIAs, MSAs, BOPs, OEs, LTSAs, agreements....
  • Substantial experience in power plants and in particular in project management of renewable projects (either in development, bidding, construction or operation phase)

  • Experience in management of O&M and/or Asset Management contracts
    Extended PC knowledge (MS Office, integrated project management and scheduling tools

 

HARD SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies (a PMP certification is a plus)
  • Software: integrated project management tools, Office Suite
  • Fluent English communication (oral and written)
  • French as a second language is a plus
  • Chinese/Hindi/Arabic/Spanish or other languages is a nice to have
